Always

Always is a strong word.  It means forever.  Few people can promise to always do something because most of us will forget or give up.  Jesus told us, "...And surely I am with you always, to the very end of the age." -Matthew 28:20b.  Jesus continues always to be with us through his Holy Spirit.  This Spirit is our guide. -Pastor Mike

Peace

"I have told you these things, so that in me you may have peace.  In this world you will have trouble.  But take heart!  I have overcome the world." - John 16:33.  Jesus has already overcome sin and death for us.  Since the ultimate victory has already been won, we can claim the peace of Christ in the most troublesome times. - Pastor Mike

Trust

I tend to want to do things myself because I know if I do, they will get done.  That shows little trust in other's abilities.  God wants us to trust him.  "But I am like an olive tree flourishing in the house of God;  I trust in God's unfailing love for ever and ever." -Psalm 53: 8.  Lean on, trust, and be confident in God with all your heart and mind! -Pastor Mike

YNTBOM

As any elementary school teacher knows, kids often say YNTBOM (You're not the boss of me!)  "As the heavens are higher than the earth, so are my ways higher than your ways, and my thoughts than your thought." -Isaiah 55:9.  God is our boss!  Stay in communication with him, accept that his plans are better than yours, and trust and thank him in advance. -Pastor Mike

Sovereign

"The sovereign Lord is my strength; he makes my feet like the feet of a deer, he enables me to go to the heights." -Habakkuk 3:19.  When nothing makes sense, and when troubles seem more than you can bear, remember Habakkuk's words.  Take your eyes off your pain and look to God, for he is sovereign (in control). -Pastor Mike

Running

Bryce, from our CREW Youth Group, will be running in the State Finals this Saturday, and I know that he will give all the glory to Christ.   "Therefore, since we are surrounded by such a great cloud of witnesses, let us throw off everything that hinders and the sin that so easily entangles, and let us run with perserverance the race marked out for us." -Hebrews 12:1. -Pastor Mike

Rejoice!

"This is the day that the Lord had made, let us rejoice and be glad in it." - Psalm 118: 24.  Sometimes we feel down and our sorrow or guilt is overwhelming.  Let God know how you feel and pray that he change your attitude.  God gives us a reason to rejoice.  He has given us this day to live and serve him. What a great gift! -Pastor Mike

Sinking

""Come, Jesus said.  Then Peter got down out of the boat, walked on the water and came toward Jesus.  But when he saw the wind, he was afraid and, beginning to sink, cried out, 'Lord , save me!'" - Matthew 15:29-30.  When God calls out to you, do you focus on him or on the world around you?  Keep your eyes on Jesus and you will never sink. -Pastor Mike

Bonfire

This past weekend Converge Young Adults and Crew and 4:12 Youth Groups celebrated Pentecost with bonfires.  We cooked over them, sang around them, and visited with each other near them.  One representation of the Holy Spirit is that of fire.  We are empowered by the Holy Spirit to be "on fire" for spreading the Good News of Jesus Christ. -Pastor Mike

Ice Cream

A friend of mine took three of us out for ice cream yesterday.  It was a great time to reconnect and share some laughs.  We also spent time talking about relationships, college plans, and other stuff that are on the minds of many teens and young adults.  Take timme to go out and have ice cream, coffee, or a walk with a friend and let God speak through you. -Pastor Mike
