Running
Bryce, from our CREW Youth Group, will be running in the State Finals this Saturday, and I know that he will give all the glory to Christ. "Therefore, since we are surrounded by such a great cloud of witnesses, let us throw off everything that hinders and the sin that so easily entangles, and let us run with perserverance the race marked out for us." -Hebrews 12:1. -Pastor Mike
Rejoice!
"This is the day that the Lord had made, let us rejoice and be glad in it." - Psalm 118: 24. Sometimes we feel down and our sorrow or guilt is overwhelming. Let God know how you feel and pray that he change your attitude. God gives us a reason to rejoice. He has given us this day to live and serve him. What a great gift! -Pastor Mike
Rehearsing
I like to be prepared, but sometimes I even try to rehearse my future, possible troubles. While our lives will not be without problems, God wants us to only go throught them once, not over and over. "Come to me, all you who are weary and burdened, and I will give you rest." -Matthew 11:28. Let God transform your fears into trust. - Pastor Mike
Sinking
""Come, Jesus said. Then Peter got down out of the boat, walked on the water and came toward Jesus. But when he saw the wind, he was afraid and, beginning to sink, cried out, 'Lord , save me!'" - Matthew 15:29-30. When God calls out to you, do you focus on him or on the world around you? Keep your eyes on Jesus and you will never sink. -Pastor Mike
Equipped
"I am the vine; you are the branches. If a man remains in me and I in him, he will bear much fruit; apart from me you can do nothing." -John 15:5. I desire to know exactly what is going to happen in my life. But I have learned that if I spend time with God each day, I may not know what lies ahead, but I will be equipped to deal with it. -Pastor Mike
Bonfire
This past weekend Converge Young Adults and Crew and 4:12 Youth Groups celebrated Pentecost with bonfires. We cooked over them, sang around them, and visited with each other near them. One representation of the Holy Spirit is that of fire. We are empowered by the Holy Spirit to be "on fire" for spreading the Good News of Jesus Christ. -Pastor Mike
Remembering
Remember the first time that you rode a bike by yourself? God has gifted us all with the sense of remembering. This can be a blessing when we remember something wonderful, but also when we remember something that was painful...we can learn from both. Today is a day to remember those who gave their lives for our freedom. God bless them! -Pastor Mike
Ice Cream
A friend of mine took three of us out for ice cream yesterday. It was a great time to reconnect and share some laughs. We also spent time talking about relationships, college plans, and other stuff that are on the minds of many teens and young adults. Take timme to go out and have ice cream, coffee, or a walk with a friend and let God speak through you. -Pastor Mike
Scrape
Converge Young Adults was a riot yesterday. We had 40 plus people show up for a campfire, great hot meal, singing and strumming, and lots of games. I played football and fell into a low area on the lawn, scrapping my knee and injuring two of my fingers. Life is like that. We fall down but with God's help, we get up and continue in his will. -Pastor Mike
Prayer
"Devote yourself to prayer, being watchful and thankful." - Colossians 4:2. Have you ever become tired of praying for something? Devoting oneself to prayer means to be persistant and faithful that God will answer. The answer may come slowly, but know that God is always present, listening, and answering, in ways that he knows are best. -Pastor Mike
