Thankfulness
Colossians 4:2 states, "Devote yourself to prayer, being watchful and thankful." We all have much to be thankful for. Spending time with God each morning in prayer emphasizing what we are thankful for protects us from negative thinking. Walk purposefully with God and see where he directs you to spread his gospel of love. -Pastor Mike
Mirror
1 Corinthians 13: 12 states, "Now we see but a poor reflection as in a mirror; then we shall see face to face." Paul is writing to us to let us know that one day we will be complete when we see God face to face. While we don't have all the answers now, when we meet Christ face to face on that final day, we will be able to have all of our questions answered. -Pastor Mike
Weary
Hebrews 12: 3 states, "Consider him (Jesus) who endured such opposition from sinful men, so that you will not grow weary and lose heart." Our mission team just returned from Peru with sinus infections, irritated eyes, and nagging coughs. But we have also returned knowing that over a hundred lives were changed because God did not allow our team to grow weary. -Pastor Mike
Presence
The emptiness that we sometimes feel inside can either be filled with our problems or God's presence. When I go out each afternoon for my prayer walk, I pray and also silence myself to listen for God's voice for over an hour. "Pray continually." -1 Thessalonians 5:17. Listen for His voice. You can depend on Jesus for all your needs! -Pastor Mike
Focus
Keeping your eyes on Jesus is the same thing as trusting him. So often I want to look away, thinking that things of this world are worthy of my trust; money, recognition, education, and such. But Jesus is the only, lasting answer. "Cast all your anxiety on him because he cares for you." -2 Peter 5:7. He cares so much that he went to the cross for us! -Pastor Mike
Peru
This will be my last blog for 2 weeks as I am leading a group of 11 on a mission trip to Peru. Keep us in your prayers as we work for the 11th year with the rescued street boys. We will tell and show them of God's love for them, take water to the shanty towns, labor at both boy's home sites, and teach about Jesus in the public schools. -Pastor Mike
Peru
This will be my last blog for 2 weeks as I am leading a group of 11 on a missionary trip to Peru early tomorrow morning. Paul tells Timothy in 1 Timothy 4:2 to "Preach the Word". Our team will be preaching the Word in thought, action, and speech, as we reconnect with the rescued street boys that we have been working with for over 11 years. -Pastor Mike
Peace
Christians should live in peace. That does not mean that we will always agree on everything, but it does mean as Christians, we must work together despite our differences. This type of love is not a feeling but a decision to reach out and fill someone else's need. Love leads to peace, and this is the only way the body of Christ can function productively. -Pastor Mike
Prosperity
Ever feel sometimes that evil people prosper while good people suffer? Habakkuk felt that way. In Habakkuk 1, we see him complain to God twice before he realizes that God's answer is that evil doers don't prosper in the long run. God is God and he will do what is right. This can give us confidence and hope in a world that is confusing. - Pastor Mike
Hand
When we were little, some adult was always holding our hand. I remember my grandmother walking me to the grocery store, softly humming a favorite hymn. "The Lord God is with you, he is mighty to save. He will take great delight in you, he will quiet you with his love, he will rejoice over you with singing." -Zephaniah 3: 17. Let God lead you by the hand. -Pastor Mike
