Multiply

Christ's presence on earth was limited to one place.  His death to remove our sins, resurrection and defeat of death, and return to the Father provided the opportunity for the Holy Spirit to come and be present to us, no matter where we are.  ""...unless I go away, the Counselor will not come to you; but if I go, I will send him to you." -John 16:7b. -Pastor Mike

How Long?

Do you have a mentor that you can talk with on a daily basis?  We ALL need such a person.  Likewise, we need to come to God each day with our problems and concerns.  In Psalm 13, David crys out 4 times, "How long?"  By the end of the psalm, David puts his trust in God.  "But I trust in your unfailing love; my heart rejoices in your salvation." -v.5. -Pastor Mike

Planning Ahead

Planning ahead is wise, but if you only think about accumulating wealth without concern for others, you will enter the after life empty-handed. Instead, share!.  "But God said to him, "You fool!"  This very night your life will be demanded from you.  then you willl get what you have prepared for yourself." -Luke 12:20. -Pastor Mike

Rest

I have noticed, working with young adults, that often they short-change themselves when it comes to sleep.  Rest is so important for one's physical health.  Jesus promised rest in a spiritual manner.  ""Come to me, all you who are heavy burdened, and I will give you rest." -Matthew 11:28.  This rest that Jesus promises is love, healing, and peace with God. -Pastor Mike

Worth

To humble oneself means to recognize that our worth comes from God.  To be humble, we must work with his power and guidance.  "Humble yourselves before the Lord and he will lift you up." -James 4:10.  While we do not deserve God's favor he continuously reaches out to us and gives us worth and dignity. -Pastor Mike

Refuge

We often entrust our lives to things such as money, careers, a cause, or some life-long dream.  But God is our only refuse that will keep us from destruction.  "The eternal God is your refuge, and underneath are the everlasting arms, he will drive out your enemy before you, saying, 'Destroy him!'" -Deuteronomy 33:25.  Fall into God's arms! -Pastor Mike

Hungry

Most of us are hungry when we get up, around noon, and around early evening.  We need food to fuel our physical bodies  More importantly, God offers us free nourishment that feeds our soul.  We hunger for this more than we do for food.  "Come, all you who are thirsty, come to the waters;  and you who have no money, come buy and eat!" -Isaiah 55:1. -Pastor Mike

Traits

It's odd.  The traits that most often bother us in others are often the traits that we dislike in ourselves.  "Do not judge, or you too will be judged.  For in the same way you judge others, you will be judged, and with the measure you use, it will be measured to you." -Matthew 7:1-2.  Judge yourself first, and then lovingly forgive and help your neighbor. -Pastor Mike.

All People

Can you imagine the rush of emotions that the shepherds had when they were visited by an angel, telling them "Fear not, for I bring you tidings of great joy which will be to all people.  For unto you is born this day in the city of David a Savior, who is Christ the Lord." (Luke 2:10-11).  Take time today to share that announcement, for Christ came for all! -Pastor Mike
