Testimony

Last night at Converge 3 young adults shared their two word stories.  Two chose the words, Loved? Loved. and one chose the words, Truth? Truth.  All three were stories that were transparent and showed how much God intervened. shaped and loved them in their lives.  Go to two-word story.com and begin to put together your story today! - Pastor Mike

Soil

I love to work in the soil, and my fingernails show it.  Yesterday I planted four tubs of pansies.  I wanted to get all yellow, but Home Depot only had mixed packs.  After I planted them, Lynn remarked how she liked the mixed colors.  Like King David who wanted to build the temple for the Lord, sometimes God has a plan better than your own. - Pastor Mike

Magnolia

Wow!  The trees have just popped out in bloom. I catch their fragrence whenever I run by one in the morning. Proverbs 27:9 tells us that "The heartfelt counsel of a friend is as sweet as perfume and incense."  Have you taken time lately to listen to a friend's story?  Afterward, pray with them for the fragrant leading of the Holy Spirit. - Pastor Mike

Funeral Home

Lynn and I went to pay our respects. While we didn't know most of Coach Tom's relatives, it makes such a difference it to those who are still living to meet those who were a part of a departed loved one's life.  From the Flamingo's waitstaff, co-workers at FOMOCO, DSC soccer players and coaches, to friends, funeral home visitations comfort those left behind. - Pastor Mike

Dehydrated

I took my afternoon walk a bit later than I normally do and in a hurry, I forgot to hydrate with a couple of glasses of water.  With the record heat and sun, halfway through my 4 miles I began to get a headache, felt weak, and nauseous.  I was dyhydrated.  How about your spiritual life? Are you feeling weak?  Ask for the Holy Spirit to hydrate you! - Pastor Mike

Forgiveness

Ever have trouble forgiving someone who has hurt you?  I have.  It's easier to forgive when you remember what Christ did for you on the cross.  "Bearing with one another, and forgiving one another, if anyone have a complaint against another; even as Christ forgave you, so you also must do."-Colossians 3:13.  Forgive someone today. - Pastor Mike

Trip

On an early morning run, I hit a raised piece of sidewalk with the toe of my shoe and nearly tripped.  Fortunately I was able to recover before tumbling down.  Satan is like that.  Just like my refreshing run, when life is going well Satan tries to trip you up.  Stay alert, pray often, and read your Bible on a daily basis. - Pastor Mike

Chance

I recently talked a friend into allowing somebody to teach a class.  At first he said, "No way!". After I explained how it would be a growing experience for us all, he changed his mind.  Life is one, big experiment.  Allow others to make mistakes.  Just think how different life would be if we never allowed anyone to try something before they mastered it. - Pastor Mike

Coach Tom

I had the pleasure to coach with Tom Martin on the Dearborn Vipers Premier Soccer Team.  Tom recently passed away.  His passion was working with teens and making them into the best that they could be, mentally, physically, and spiritually.  I am so glad that I recently talked with him.  Life is short...invest yourself in someone who needs your coaching. - Pastor Mike

Milk

Would you offer a newborn baby a cheeseburger?  Of course not!  Without teeth, how could an infant chew?  Same thing goes with non/new Christians.  Offer them the "milk" of a testimony of how your life has changed since accepting Christ as Lord and Savior.  Don't quote Scripture, pressure them, or beat them up.  Start slow and be relational. - Pastor Mike
