Tomato Plant

I saw tomato plants at HD. This is 2 months before tomato plants should go in the ground.  While we did have a spell of warm weather a week ago, temperatures have returned to their frosty, normal spring lows.  Witness with your story to a non-believer rather than jump ahead too quickly with the Gospel story.  Don't let Satan "frost" your efforts. - Pastor Mike

Tee Shirts

Our daughter recently designed tee shirts for both of our Youth Groups.  Her 4:12 Mid-high tee is bold and brassy, much like most middle school students.  Her CREW HS tee is more refined and mature, like most high students.  My wife and I are excited to see the youth in our church family discover their gifts and talents and use them to bring glory to God. - Pastor Mike

Example

As a teacher, mentor and pastor, it is my responsibility to model behavior to my students, staff, and the congregation in general.  Nobody has done this better than Jesus.  "If I then, your Lord and Teacher, have washed your feet, you also ought to wash one another's feet.  For I have given you an example, that you should do as I have done to you." -John 13: 14-15 -Pastor Mike

Laughs

Yesterday I went out with 4 other guys that I usually do not hang with.  After attending a meeting, we decided to go out and eat at a restaurant.  The meal was delightful and nourishing, but even better were all the stories that we traded.  I haven't laughted that hard in quite a while.  Step out of your box and spend time with someone new. - Pastor Mike

Ladder

I love garbage picking!  Today I found an ancient wooden ladder and carted it over to church to use for a Converge art project.  I know that the artists in our group will use paints to create a work of art.  Kind of like God and us.  He created us, we sinned and were ready for the trash heap, we turned back to Him, and He painted us clean and forgiven. - Pastor Mike

Redbud

The Redbud trees are out in bloom in our neighborhood.  Their dainty flowers and whispy branches are such a foil for the huge leaves that will follow.  Our God has such an imagination that when he made everything He did so with such an abundance of creativity.  Take time today to look around and savor God's creation.  Let it be your inspiration! - Pastor Mike

Donation

I took a huge pan of pasta salad, some vegetables, and 3 containers of salsa down to the Detroit Rescue Mission Ministries' soup kitchen in Detroit.  They were thrilled, as their donations were down in volume.  What do you have around your home that you can share with others?  Take time to take inventory and pass on what you really don't need. -Pastor Mike

Requiem

A requiem originally was a Catholic funeral service.  The John Rutter version that was performed at our church was more of a concert in that it included two psalms, 130 and 32.  Both psalms assure us of our forgiveness when we confess and ask God to wash us clean.  This forgiveness will relieve us from guilt and bring us true happiness.  Thank-you Jesus! - Pastor Mike

Kites

Yesterday a group of us built and flew some kites.  The kites would become airborn but would spin and eventually crash.  I decided to try adding more tail for weight and stability.  It worked, and the kites flew high in the sky!  As Christians, our stability is Jesus Christ, who was, is, and will always be our Savior and giver of eternal life.  Praise God!

Daniel

Today during Bible on the Boulevard, Baby we will learn about the prophet Daniel.  How wise he was in word and actions!  Daniel showed how important it is to remain true to one's faith.  He ate carefully and lived prayerfully.  Strong convictions like Daniel's will keep you a step ahead of temptation and give you stability in changing situations. - Pastor Mike
