Cantata Academy Chorale, now in its 55th season, was founded in the fall of 1961 and is dedicated to high calibre choral performance and outreach to communities throughout the Detroit metropolitan area and the world. Each year the Chorale produces its own subscription concert series and hires out to orchestras, churches, and other concert series. Cantata Academy Chorale has appeared with every major orchestra in the metropolitan Detroit area, including the Detroit Symphony Orchestra. In addition, the Chorale has toured Europe many times. Plans for the next tour are underway. The Chorale’s latest cd (its 4th recording), That Music Always Round Me, was released in March 2014.
