Weapons

As Christians, we fight daily against Satan's "strongholds".  We must use God's weapons of prayer, faith, hope, love, God's Word, the Holy Spirit, and fellowship with mature Christians.  "The weapons we fight with are not the weapons of the world.  On the contrary, they have the devine power to demolish strongholds." -2 Corinthians 10:4. -Pastor Mike

Present

When I was young, I always worried about the future.  Not that I'm saying that you should not plan ahead, but don't waste your time getting sick over what may never be.  "Do not be anxious about anything, but in everything, by prayer and petition, with thanksgiving, present your requests to God." -Philipians 4:9.  Live in, and enjoy the present! -Pastor Mike

Relationship

It's heartbreaking to lose a relationship through relocation, death, or just plain busyness.  Jesus wants relationship with us and promises to live inside of us through his Spirit.  It is comforting to know that no matter who we lose in our lives, Jesus will never leave us.  "...And surely I am with yo always, to the very end of the age." -Matthew 28:20. -Pastor Mike

Trust

Putting trust in someone or something is difficult.  It means making yourself vulnerable to getting let down.  God never let's us down.  He leads us between point A and point B on our life journey and never gets lost or needs directions.  "Trust in the Lord forever, for the Lord, the Lord, is the Rock eternal." -Isaiah 26:4. -Pastor Mike

Rely

Relying on God is what we need to do so that we don't give up. We are strenghtened when we rest in God's sovereignty. "For to be sure, he was crucified in weakness, yet he lives by God's power.  Likewise, we are weak in him, yet by God's power we will live with him to serve you." -2 Corinthians 13:4. Will you rely on God? -Pastor Mike

Guilt

Guilt never motivates people.  Encouragement does.  "Because through Christ Jesus the law of the Spirit of life set me free from the law of sin and death." -Romans 8:2.  I am encouraged by the fact that Jesus has set us believers free from sin and has promised us eternal life.  Are you motivated to tell others?  "Just do it!" -Pastor Mike

Freedom

God granted us free will as a god-like privilege, but apart from God, we can do nothing.  We need to use our freedom wisely as we rely on God constantly.  "I am the vine, you are the branches.  He who abides in Me, and I in him, bears much fruit; for without Me you can do nothing." -John 15:5.  Ask God what choices you have today and choose wisely! -Pastor Mike

Stumble

Today on my early-morning run I experienced a tire-stop that had been moved by a careless driver.  Pushed onto the sidewalk, I almost stumbled over it.  Like that curb-stop, non-Christians can use our un-Godly actions as excuses to reject Christ.  "We put no stumbling block in anyone's path, so that our ministry will not be discredited." -2 Corinthians 6:3. -Pastor Mike

Darkness

We need to constantly ask God to assist us in pushing back the darkness.  We need his presence, protection, and guidance.  "...I am the light of the world.  Whoever follows me will never walk in darkness, but willl have the light of life." -John 6:12.  Following Jesus as our commander, slave, and counselor, we will have God's path illuminated for us. -Pastor Mike

Scattered

Ever feel that you just can't focus, that your thoughts are scattered, that you can't figure out what to do first?  Pray, read Scripture, and worship!  That's how each of us should start out our morning.  Then ask God to prioritize his undertakings for you to do today.  "For God is not a God of disorder but of peace." -1 Corinthians 15:33. -Pastor Mike
