Worry
We all have problems that we must face. Worry is unnecessary if you truly believe that God is in control of all situations. Through prayer, God either handles the problem or he shows us how to tackle it. "...Therfore I tell you, do not worry about your life, what you will eat; or care about your body, what you will wear." -Luke 12:22. -Pastor Mike
Reflection
Do you reflect the world or God's Kingdom? If you reflect the world, you glamorize sin. If you reflect God, you glamorize purity. Seek God wholeheartly so he can take your darkened mind and pour his light into it. "Arise, shine, for your light has come, and the glory of the Lord rises upon you. -Isaiah 60:1. -Pastor Mike
Idol
What idols have you created in your life? Amassing wealth, popularity, always being right in your opinions? What do you bow down to? God wants us completely. "You shall have no other gods before me." - Exodus 20:3. Take time out to worship God today and make him the one and only desire of your heart. -Pastor Mike
Perseverance
Trials will happen in our lives. They can harden our hearts or soften them. Have a positive outlook when you face difficulties because they are in fact, learning experiences. "Consider it pure joy, my brothers, whenever you face trials of many kinds, because you know that the testing of your faith develops perseverance." -James 1:2. -Pastor Mike
No Fear
Fear can cause us to become immobile. We must not allow the Evil One to control us. We need to focus in on God's immersurable love and then allow him to love others through us. "There is no fear in love. But perfect love drives out fear, because fear has to do with punishment. The one who fears is not made perfect in love." -1 John 4:7. -Pastor Mike
Step-by-Step
Remember when you were learning to walk? Your parent took hold of your hand and slowly walked next to you as you wernt forward, step-by-step. "For I am the Lord, your God, who takes hold of your right hand and says to you, Do not fear; I will help you." -Isaiah 41:13. Allow the Holy Spirit to guide you, as he has mapped out every inch of your journey. -Pastor Mike
Decisions
Being a parent or a mentor is sooooo hard! I am both, and sometimes it makes me crazy. While I would like to make all the decisions for those I "coach", I know that ultimately, I need to teach them HOW to make decisions. "Train up a child in the way he should go, and when he is old he will not turn from it." -Proverbs 22:6. -Pastor Mike
Peace
The peace that Christ gives to us transends our intellect. While I spend much of my time trying to figure things out (like today, trying to figure out how to cook mac and cheese for 120 people), my mental energy blocks the peace that God offers. "Now , may the Lord of peace himself give you peace at all times and in every way..." -2 Thessalonians 3:16a. -Pastor Mike
Committed
We need to have a committed time with God each day. This may call for sacrifice in our busy lives. We need to focus on God in order to be strengthened and equipped each day. "For the eyes of the Lord range throughout the earth to strengthen those who hearts are fully committed to him..." -2 Chronicles 16:9a. -Pastor Mike
Immanuel
Immanuel (also written as Emmanuel) means "God with us" and was prophasied by Isaiah (7:14). Jesus came to us as God in the flesh. "The virgin will be with child and will give birth to a son, and they will call him Immanuel - which means, "God with us". -Matthew 1:23. Through the Holy Spirit, Christ is present today within the life of every believer. - Pastor Mike
